This year marks a milestone that means a lot to us—and to the community we’re proud to call home. Homestead Furniture & Appliances is celebrating 50 years of helping Port Perry families create spaces they love.
Since opening our doors in 1976, Homestead has been more than just a furniture and appliance store. From our showroom near the shores of Lake Scugog, we’ve had the privilege of helping generations of families furnish their homes, cottages, and gathering spaces. What started as a local business with a simple goal—to offer quality products and honest service—has grown into a trusted destination for furniture, appliances, flooring, mattresses, and window coverings.
But the heart of Homestead has always been the same: people.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed countless customers through our doors—many of whom have become familiar faces and friends. We’ve helped newlyweds choose their first sofa, families upgrade their kitchens, and cottage owners create the perfect lakeside retreat. Some customers who first visited with their parents now come in with families of their own. That’s the kind of community connection that makes a small-town business truly special.
Being part of Port Perry means more than just operating here—it means showing up for the community that has supported us for five decades. From supporting local charities and organizations to cheering on community events, Homestead has always believed that strong businesses and strong communities go hand in hand. Our showroom may have changed, and styles certainly have (goodbye waterbeds, hello induction ranges), but the welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable team have always been part of the Homestead experience.
